Buying Guides

CarDigest.ca

This is a collection of automotive reviews I wrote for my client CarDigest. The following articles were written for a Canadian audience looking for informative and engaging guides to new cars on the market before making a purchase decision.

The goal of these Quick-Look articles was to:

  • capture the soul of each car within a few paragraphs.
  • allow readers to gain an instant understanding of what makes each car unique.
  • educate the reader on the nuances of a particular car that they can not understand from a brochure

How This Content Helped The Client

I had two main goals in mind while writing these Quick-Look guides for CarDigest. First, these succinct yet informative reviews provide a snapshot of the featured cars. Second, the articles must be written with SEO in mind and be optimized for the local audience.

Overall, these articles played a crucial role in enhancing the client’s online presence and engaging their audience.

Other objectives set during this project include:

  • Position the client as a trusted expert in the automotive industry. By consistently delivering high-quality, insightful content, the client was able to establish themselves as a go-to source for automotive enthusiasts and potential buyers.
  • Avoid “information overload” with relatively short articles (as far as car reviews go).
  • Help potential buyers avoid analysis paralysis by narrowing down their choices, understanding each car’s unique selling points, and making more informed decisions.
  • Provide easily digestible information. I decreased the hassle and friction often associated with car shopping.
  •

In other words, these reviews were not just about cars; they were about fostering a community of informed car enthusiasts and helping buyers embark on their automotive journeys with confidence and excitement.

The 2021 Ford Escape Is Pleasantly Electric

arrow-black

Ford calls the 2021 Escape an SUV, but like most SUVs of the last five years, the “sport” in sport utility vehicle is a bit lacking. And why wouldn’t it be? Most of these vehicles will never leave the concrete jungle, and that’s perfectly fine—there are other cars for those kinds of adventures (the 2021 remake of the legendary Ford Bronco is one example).

Essentially, we’d be better off comparing the 2021 Escape with other crossovers on the market, but, ironically, that’s exactly Ford’s problem—other crossovers.

Toyota’s RAV4 is Canada’s Favourite Compact SUV For A Reason

One of the best reasons to own the RAV4 is the reliability we’ve come to expect from Toyota

The RAV4 is dependable, very good-looking, and competitively priced. If you’re in the market for a modern compact SUV, it should be on your short list.

The 2021 Nissan Altima Is Good—But Good Enough?

Last year, the Nissan Altima was one of the best-selling cross-segment vehicles. But what about 2021? Some of its chief competitors have only gotten better, putting the 2021 Nissan Altima in a tight spot. Does it still stand its ground?

Is It a Good Idea to Make Principal-Only Payments on Your Car Loan?

Like every other financial decision, you should consider the opportunity cost. Making an additional payment will mean you’ll pay less interest, but it also means that you’re spending money that you could have used for other essential purposes, such as building an emergency fund.

Principal-only payments become less attractive when there are principal-only fees (these are different from prepayment penalties). In such a scenario, you may be better off clearing your other high-interest debts, such as credit card payments and student loans, before rushing to clear your car loan.

Six Reasons To Buy A New Car in 2022

But the risk of buying a lemon isn’t the only consideration. Many factors can wipe out the savings that are the reason you buy a used car in the first place…

We Canadians spend more money on fuel than almost anyone else in the world, so fuel efficiency is important… In addition to the fuel savings, the Canadian federal government and certain provincial governments are offering financial incentives, like tax credits up to $5,000, if you purchase or lease an “eligible battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell, or longer range plug-in hybrid” vehicle.

Audi Seattle

I had the privilege of collaborating with an Audi dealership right in the heart of Seattle, and our mission was clear: to bring the essence of Audi’s remarkable vehicles to life through engaging website copy. This partnership was all about turning digital visitors into Audi customers. Seattle’s Audi dealership boasts an impressive lineup of cutting-edge vehicles, and my role was to craft compelling narratives for these automotive marvels.

Local SEO was another major goal of the project and the content reflects this with a tasteful placement of Seattle-related keywords.

2020 Audi Q3

Ford calls the 2021 Escape an SUV, but like most SUVs of the last five years, the “sport” in sport utility vehicle is a bit lacking. And why wouldn’t it be? Most of these vehicles will never leave the concrete jungle, and that’s perfectly fine—there are other cars for those kinds of adventures (the 2021 remake of the legendary Ford Bronco is one example).

2020 Audi Q5

Audi’s Virtual Cockpit places the driver right in the middle of all the action and helps you carve through the Seattle traffic using driver assists, lots of power, and a very cool looking steering wheel.

The 2020 Audi Q3 maintained the interior quality of the 2019 while improving performance.

University Volkswagen

Seattle’s automotive enthusiasts deserved more than mundane descriptions. They deserved narratives that ignited their passion for these exceptional vehicles. Thus, the website copy became a canvas where I painted pictures of exhilarating road trips, memorable family journeys, and urban adventures – all behind the wheel of a Volkswagen.

Collaborating with University Volkswagen was a unique opportunity to dive deeper into the world of commercial automotive copy. My mission was clear: to craft website copy that did justice to Volkswagen’s legacy of innovation, reliability, and style.

2020 VW Atlas Seattle

Apart from the better looking 20-inch wheels, there aren’t many changes on the outside of the 2020 Atlas – but why change a winning combo at all? The new Atlas has sharp edges and a bold stance that lends it the look of a full-size SUV.

But despite looking like its bigger siblings and seating 7, the Atlas is still relatively small and manageable around city centers. And if you want, it’ll easily dominate the offroad in its AWD configuration.
